W Lawrence Ave to W Edgewater AvePaving of first coat of asphalt is completeCrews will work on pavement patching and utility adjustments, expected to last 3 weeks, weather permittingPeoples Gas Project update – Magnolia, Lakewood & WaynePer the contractor NPL, most of the sidewalks have been restored.The remaining few will be addressed by Tuesday once the retirements are completed.NPL is concrete backfilling the openings today and the plan is to have the parkway landscaping completed within the next 2 weeks.Andersonville Water Main ReplacementNPL will start on the 1400 Block of Farragut repairing the private drains that were done for the pilot program that were not accepted by the city. According to the information NPL received there are two private drains on this block that needs to be repaired, this should be 2 or 3 days of work. Once completed with the drains watering and chlorination will start on Farragut. While this process starts on Farragut the crew will move to the 1400 block of Berwyn to complete 2 more private drains that were assigned to NPL.The 1400 Block of Farragut is posted for No Parking with hours 8am to 6pm and the 1400 block of Berwyn will be posted on Monday 8/16 to give residents enough time to be prepared for work on their block. There will be partial closures on all the blocks where work is being performed

CTA Red Purple Modernization Project UpdatesThis weekend Foster Ave. will be closed between Broadway and Winthrop to allow crews to begin demolition on the viaduct. This will be an ongoing closure beginning Friday, August 20, 8pm, through Monday, August 23, 5am. Both sidewalks will remain closed throughout the weekend. Any residents that need to access the alley who live south of Foster Avenue will have to go to W. Winona Avenue and any residents who live north of Foster Avenue will have to go to W. Berwyn Avenue. Detour signage will be placed throughout the ward specifically on our main thoroughfares Ridge, Sheridan, Clark, and DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
Click here to read the full construction activity noticeCatalpa Ave. and Balmoral Ave. Street Closure – This WeekBalmoral Ave is closed between the CTA tracks and N Winthrop Ave through Friday, August 20th. Crews will need a full closure to vehicular traffic as they perform viaduct and abutment demolition. Residents who have access to the alley and parking spaces/garages behind 5400-5456 N. Winthrop will be closed during all work hours. This alley will be open at the end of each workday. Those residents who live south of Balmoral Ave will need to access the alley via W. Berwyn Ave. Catalpa Ave between the CTA tracks and N Winthrop Ave will be open with traffic lane shifts and flagger assistance. Sidewalk closures on Catalpa Ave will alternate between north and south sides of the street.
