The 48th Ward is comprised of businesses and residents in three different Chicago communities.  Each commercial district is supported by two non-profit organizations and a funding entity.

Edgewater

Edgewater Chamber of Commerce creates and supports a thriving business environment, contributing to a vibrant Edgewater community. The Chamber organizes and presents marketing, education, networking, and advocacy programs to increase commercial activity and strengthen existing businesses in the Edgewater community.

Special Service Area #26 (SSA #26) is a special taxing district that has been established in Edgewater on Broadway from Foster to Devon and Devon from Broadway to Glenwood. The Edgewater Chamber of Commerce is the Sole Service Provider for SSA #26.

Business Partners, the Chamber for Uptown, along with its sister agency Uptown United, is committed to leading efforts to build a strong, unified business environment; facilitate economic development; and strengthen community — all to nurture a diverse, vibrant, thriving, and strong Uptown through marketing, advocacy, technical assistance, special events and business trainings.

Uptown United is Uptown’s community economic development organization serving the entire Uptown community, from Irving Park on the south to Foster on the north, the lake on the east and Clark Street on the west.

Special Service Area #34 (SSA #34) encompasses the major commercial corridors of the Uptown community including both Broadway and Sheridan from Irving Park (4000 N) to Foster (5200 N), parts of Clarendon and Marine, as well as the east-west streets of Argyle, Lawrence, Leland, Wilson, and Montrose. Uptown United is the Sole Service Provider for SSA #34.

Andersonville

Andersonville’s rich and diverse community life supports locally-owned businesses; celebrates its arts, culture, and history; and in all actions considers the effects on people, planet and prosperity.
