Safety Alert

On Friday, October 26 in the early morning a woman was assaulted in an alley on the block of 5600 N. Kenmore. The Police are currently investigating this crime and the victim is recovering from injuries. Nearby neighbors heard the woman scream, called 911 and came to the victim’s aid which ended the assault and helped the woman receive emergency medical care.

The Police have released a photo of the suspect, who is described as a black male, between 18-25 years old and 6 feet tall weighing 175. If you encounter or see this individual, please call 911 or area violent crimes detectives at 312-744-8261 immediately. Please do not approach the individual or make contact.

Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service has released a “Lakeshore Flood Warning” for Lake Michigan that will be in effect starting late Monday evening thru Wednesday afternoon. This weather will effect those who live along Sheridan Road and the lakefront and those who use Lakeshore Drive to travel to/from work.

The Weather Service has warned that winds of 50 to 60 mph will occur on Lake Michigan and that as a result, waves are expected to build significantly with wave heights of 18 to 23 feet likely by Tuesday. The Weather Service states that “These large waves will batter the beaches and shorelines leading to coastal erosion and flooding, and could result in similar impacts to the storm of September 2011.”
