November 7, 2016 – Sheridan and Thorndale shooting

On Saturday, November 5, around 2 pm, there was a shooting incident at Sheridan and Thorndale. A vehicle traveling southbound on Sheridan was shot at by an individual on the sidewalk. A passenger ran from the vehicle down the alley west of Sheridan, where additional shots were fired. One person was taken to St. Francis Hospital for treatment. A gun was recovered at the scene. Chicago Police Department is currently running tests on the gun and reviewing video evidence.

Police are investigating reported incidents of shots fired that occurred near this area last week. The 20th and 24th police districts will have additional police presence in this area. I will have a further update about Saturday’s incident in our Friday newsletter. I ask residents to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious individuals, activity or vehicles to 911.
